Asset Management Specialist – Data Center (Vendor-Facing)

The Asset Management Specialist supports data center operations by managing the tracking, control, and lifecycle of physical IT and data center assets. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, audits, asset movement, and documentation in a secure, mission-critical environment.
- Receive, tag, label, and register data center assets (servers, network devices, storage, racks, spares)
- Maintain accurate records in asset management systems / CMDB / DCIM
- Track asset location, status, ownership, and lifecycle stage
- Perform physical inventory checks, cycle counts, and audits
- Support asset deployment, swap, and decommissioning activities
- Coordinate asset movement within data halls, cages, and storage areas
- Manage RMA, repair, and disposal tracking with proper documentation
- Ensure compliance with security, access control, and audit requirements
- Generate inventory and audit reports as requested by operations or customers
- 2+ years experience in asset management, inventory control, or data center operations
- Hands-on exposure to IT or data center hardware assets
- Familiar with Excel, ITAM / CMDB / DCIM tools
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Comfortable working in secure, controlled data center environments
- Able to follow SOPs, audit processes, and customer requirements
- Good to Have:
- Experience in hyperscale, colocation, or customer-dedicated data centers
- Prior work in BPO or outsourced operations
- Experience supporting high-volume inventory environments
